- It's 1990's suburban America. 12-year-old, intellectual Chilli (Zana Rockwell) plays "Zelda" on SuperNES, meanwhile Tommy (Jacob Lentfer-Maguire) takes a pair of binoculars to his window where he spies on his neighbor Henry, who's actions have become peculiar lately. Across the backyard, Tommy watches as Henry (David Waters) scrambles working on an assortment of large parts that have been strewn across the ground. Chilli overhears Tommy's exclamation and joins him. Their third friend, Dill (Jasper Lloyd) walks into the bedroom and joins them peering through the window. Tommy's kid sister Georgie (Taryn Wallace), enters the room with her bunny "Minx." Tommy and Chilli continues to spy on Henry as he comes out of his shed dragging what looks to be a body bag. Scared, Tommy and Chilli slump onto the bed. This gets Dill's attention, he grabs the binoculars and takes a look. Henry places leaves the 'body-bag' and walks back into the shed. Shaken, Dill slumps onto the bed. The three friends begin to speculate what's going on. Henry returns with a mysterious paper bag and reveals the item in the bag, a small metal contraption. Then he pours white powder inside as smoke begins to emit from it. Panicking, the three kids discuss Henry's intentions. Tommy, runs to his desk, pulling out a map. Dill and Chilli reluctantly follow. Chilli adds to Tommy's observations, noting Henry's peculiar habits over the past few weeks. Dill mentions his observations of Henry over the past few weeks. Nearby, sitting quietly with her bunny, Georgie listens and watches in curiosity. The next day Tommy builds a diagram of Henry's items. Dill watches through binoculars, making notes of Henry's activities. Chilli researches on the items Tommy has drawn, she begins reading an excerpt from one of the books about a Dr. Henry Ed Ganthrope, a notable scientist from the early 1950's who claimed to have discovered the ability to travel to other universes, but shortly after his claims he disappeared. She reads about a vessel that he built, allowing for him to travel to other universes - he called it 'The Grand Palaver'. She surmises that he's been re-building The Grand Palaver and plans to leave again. Dill, reluctantly asks 'are we really believing this guys?' The kids look at each other, the possibility of such a fantastical circumstance begins to sink in. Later that night, Henry walks out of the shed, looking up into the stormy sky. He pulls out a photo of his wife, lost in thought briefly, he then puts it back away and returns to his shed. The three friends are sleeping. Tommy wakes to a clash of thunder and walks over to the window. Chilli and Dill wake, joining Tommy at the window. They watch as the door of Henry's shed swings violently from the storm, a thick white fog billows out of it. Dill looks closer at the shed, seeing a small bunny... he looks around the bedroom, realizing Georgie and Minx are missing. He gets brings this to Tommy's attention. In panic, Tommy opens the window and screams for Georgie. Outside, Minx hops into the shed. The three kids grab flashlights and bolt out of the room. Moments later, they run up to Henry's shed, hesitant to go in. Georgie walks to the bedroom looking for Minx. She comes to the window and looks out to find the others standing outside of Henry's shed. They run inside, the door slams behind them. Georgie watches in growing suspense as deep rumbling sounds start to emit from the shed, and what seems to be streams of light begin forming around it. With a shuttering cracking sound, the ground around the shed breaks free, and together the shed and the immediate ground underneath it, begins to float higher into the sky. Then without warning, a burst of light tears through the sky as the shed transforms into a large blimp. Floating with waves of energy circling is massive structure, it's propeller kicking the winds and rains around its large mass, steadily holds The Grand Palaver... and with a single clash of thunder and blinding flash of light the blimp teleports, vanishing in mid-air. Still in shock, Georgie turns, screaming "Mommmyyy!"
