- A rural con artist and an army deserter cheat the townsfolk and are aided by a rich gal who shields the fleeing duo from the wrath of the pursuing sheriff.

- The story begins at a girl's orphanage with the sheriff stumbling upon a mass murder scene. We then move along 20 years later where four college students goof off outside of the orphanage when one of the students gets drawn into the house and will not let him escape, trapping him inside the house. The other three after trying to get in to save him report to the authorities and an investigation begins with the force discovering strange findings about the house years ago and the disappearance of the one college student. The student's brother is called in who is now a paranormal investigator. He along with his crew among others re-enter the house and clue by clue leads them to discovering a very odd and disturbing occurrence not allowing them to leave the house now as well. One by one they start to fall victim to the house and spirit that feasts upon their souls because of "sin" that was in the house. The story ends in a total bloodbath and freakish ending bringing back flashbacks from the original murders.

The only way to crack the case is to locate a Reclusive former U.S. Marshall, as well the only hand gun that was never found and destroyed. What emerges is a much broader mystery, which could have far ranging implications, than just the shadows that trek behind us all.
