- In this dark take on the fairy tale, the growing hatred of a noblewoman, secretly a practitioner of the dark arts, for her stepdaughter, and the witch's horrifying attempts to kill her.
- Prince Victor looks in vain for a swan which was wounded by one of his servants. Instead he discovers a beautiful girl with golden hair who has an arrow in her shoulder. She is dumb and can't explain her origin. He falls immediately for her. The girl quickly recovers, but disappears mysteriously, leaving Victor unhappy. The king forbids his son to search for her. Victor is meant to marry the queen of the lake because she has a treasure of precious pearls and is the only one left befitting his rank . She sends her subordinate to kidnap children and uses them to obtain more pearls. Victor gets in touch with his girl during a dream thanks to a magical potion. She is a princess and her name is Odette. The queen of the lake kidnapped her and the other princesses, has taken their speech and transformed them into swans, so she's the one left to marry Victor. Everybody who seems to be dangerous for the queen of the lake is thrown down for a giant man-eating fish. Disguised as a servant, Victor tries to save the princesses and to punish the queen, but she sees through his plans and takes revenge: Odette should live as a swan forever and ever, and Victor should die. But Victor succeeds with help of the detained children to free Odette and the other princesses. Finally, while attempting to escape, the queen of the lake turns to stone.
- Inspector Brumpby (Jaroslav Marvan) and the young crime reporter Allan Pinkerton (Vít Olmer) attend wedding of Sir Hannibal Morris (Oldrich Nový) with beautiful Clarence (Kveta Fialová). After the ceremony, Clarence's ex-husband, criminal Manuel Diaz (Waldemar Matuska), who was believed dead, shows up in her room. He wants to get his hands on Clarence and, most importantly, on the money she would inherit in the eventuality of her new husband's death. Diaz makes attempts on Hannibal's life. He knows his way about an underground labyrinth in the château and the traps he sets up for Hannibal seem to work, since Hannibal is apparently found dead after an explosion in the labyrinth, after which his body vanishes. The inspector tries to solve the countless mysteries. In this, he is joined by Allan, always ahead of the man of the law in his estimation and judgment of the situation.
- Year 1919. Young country girl Anna (Marie Tomásová) arrives in Prague to serve in a rich family of builder Rubes. She encounters Toník (Josef Bek), a foundry worker in the Kolben-Danek Machinery Works and active member of the social democratic party. He, his friends and her mate Mána (Jana Dítetová) teach Anna how to deal with her employer and about the class struggle.
- Alexandre Dumas Sr. is a charming but poor young man who comes to Paris in the 1820s and enters the service of the king. He is hired as a scribe, and from the moment he picks up a pen for the first time, his fate is sealed.
- Mr. Novák, a clerk at the insurance company, cares only about his job. Even the social changes in February 1948 leave him indifferent. He only becomes aware of them when the insurance company is closed down. He has to make a decision: either retire or go to work in a factory.
- Fed up that his older brother won't pay any attention to him on their picnic, a young boy finds a voodoo puppet to enact his revenge.
