The hypnotist makes a few passes and Napoleon "goes to sleep." In his sleep-walking, he finds his way to the kitchen, drawn by the smell of a roasting chicken. Urged on by his hunger he is about to devour the fowl when he is discovered by Von Herring and led back to the guests. Napoleon is then successfully "hypnotized" and pretends to be an alley cat, a fireman and several other characters, getting into all kinds of embarrassing predicaments and nearly burning down the house when he throws on a blaze a pail of gasoline in mistake for water. Then Von Herring tell him he is Napoleon and the sailor act like the great warrior. But he is chased away from the house by a pack of dogs which has been called by an old maids' convention next door. Von Herring, thinking Napoleon still hypnotized, and for the police and tell them the only way to bring the sailor out of his trance is to stick him with a pin. Every cop asks the tar what his name is and then he answers "Napoleon" they jab him with a pin. They stick every sailor they meet. Finally everything is settled and Napoleon goes back to make love to Molly. Just as he is telling her his real name is Napoleon, an officer who hasn't been told of the mistake sticks him and Napoleon runs for his ship.

Nip will now get his chance to show what he can do. He starts to the fire and is lucky for the motor engine has broken down and he gets a chance to tow it to the fire. But the rope breaks and he goes alone to the blaze to put it out. When the crew arrives they find him wrestling with a high pressure hose. with the hose getting all the best of the argument. He is ordered off the job. In the meantime. a big fire has broken out in Toy's home. She is trapped in an upper story and sends a frantic note to Nip begging for help, using a dog as messenger. The dog brings the note to Nip who sets out on a bicycle to rescue his loved one. But Wally has set out with the engine and beats Nip to the blaze. He finds that his rival has entered the burning building, and has been cut off by the flames. Nip tries a dozen ways to get into the place and rescue the pair before he finally gets them both out. Then he finds himself trapped by the flames. Nip at last conceives a clever way to escape. and daringly carries it into effect. When he gets to the street, he finds he has been a hero and Toy rewards him properly for his bravery.

- Billy gets permission, with considerable difficulty, to go ashore to see Vera, but he arrives at a particularly inopportune moment. He has just received the news that a condemned convict who had volunteered to be shot up in the rocket instead of going to the chair, had committed suicide in his cell instead. Vera, also disappointed, explains to Billy that a man has just refused father a little favor, so Billy says she shouldn't feel bad because he would be tickled to death to do him a favor. Before Billy can realize just what is happening to him they strap a radio set on his manly chest and shove him into the rocket, which is shot off with a roar and an explosion that sounds like the World War. Billy goes up and up, out of sight of papa and Vera and the cheering professors who have come to watch the venture. The rocket soon changes direction, however, and goes parallel to the earth's surface, finally landing in a neighboring town. When Billy extricates himself from the wreck he feels like a conqueror, having reached the moon, although he is actually in a Turkish bath. After first taking possession of the moon in the name of the United States, he radios back to Vera and her papa the thrilling news that he has arrived and that it is as hot as hell up there. He sticks his head in another room and sees a number of tired business men reposing in square cabinets, he tells the waiting crowd on earth that he has seen people and that they have square bodies. Later he sees a number of pretty girls and radios back the one magic word "WOMEN." The large lady attendants finally spy him and call the police. A merry chase results which just about wrecks things for Billy. He finally gets away and runs out on a road marked "Danger, Blasting." The blast goes off and blows him back to the town where he started. The astonished professors go mad cheering him and confer upon him every sort of honorary degree and medal. For all of this he cares nothing, however, preferring to sneak away with Vera to find a minister. Outside two cops spy him and recognize him, as he places them. Leaving the astonished Vera to puzzle over his strange conduct he dashes away, hotly pursued by the minions of the law as we fade out.

Lloyd gets into the car and is driven to the sanitarium-;- He does not know that his new friends are a bunch of nuts that the squirrels have overlooked. In the sanitarium, Lloyd is surprised at the behavior of some of the people he finds there until he discovers that they are all lunatics. A beautiful girl begs him to help her escape and makes her plea very forcible by kicking Lloyd every time his back is turned. Doctor Frank is in charge. The doctor orders Lloyd into a straitjacket but a mouse runs into it and Lloyd tears the jacket to pieces. Then he meets a man with a wonderful invention-a self propelled airship which works ok for him, but which lands Lloyd in a heap outside the walls of the asylum.
