- After a mid-air collision, an uncontrollable passenger plane with 90 souls on board speeds through the skies over Germany. The impact point for the inevitable plane crash is easily calculated: the center of Berlin. Now the race is on to prevent the catastrophe. Will the plane have to be shot down by fighter pilots?

- The young, despotic and untalented artist Adolf Hitler comes to Vienna to study art. He befriends the Jew Schlomo Herzl working on a novel with the title "Mein Kampf". Hitler is rejected by the Vienna Academy of Fine Arts. Herzl's concern for the sad young man continues, and leads him to a new career with disastrous consequences for world history.

Facing ostracism from her faith and family, Sara must make the toughest choice of her young life.
- In London during World War II, Lily marries a Canadian soldier who immediately goes off to war. She and her newborn daughter are invited to come and live with his family in Canada, where conditions are not as splendid as he had described, and nobody knows if and when he will return.
- A convicted child molester with a surprising ancestry moves into Rome and has to tell all the neighbors about his past. Everyone openly despises him and shuns him and the whole town even makes a pact to force him to leave town. The sheriff won't help him, so he turns for help to Wambaugh, who refuses to take on a client for the first time in his life and even later sings Barbra Streisand's "He touched me" with choir and church organ to humiliate him further. Finally, the man turns to his disgusted father for help. Tragedy ensues but most people don't see it that way.
