This is no mere coincide; it's hard to imagine a more perfect pairing than certain substances and certain sonic tempos, pitches, and rhythms. - it ALSO has one of the best vids you'll see this year, especially if you love cartoons as much as I do. In what seems to be a collaborative effort, Finn's come up with the storyline you'll see and handed the concept to the uber-talented Davie Brown of Empirius Graphic and Motion Design who animated the video - and through their efforts to bring this vision to life, they've racked up hardware and awards like you wouldn't believe. Honestly. It'd take another separate review to list them all...from local film festivals to international ones - Love Ghost has again positioned themselves perfectly out there in the music-scene in ways that will get their music both noticed AND heard. For all you out there wondering what needs to be done to get some attention...believe me when I say taking a page out of the Love Ghost playbook will be to your benefit - they've put in the effort from all angles, audio-to-video, and applied an authentic, unshakeable focus. As far as Davie's concerned - this dude is all-aces...the video for "Girl Pusher" is pretty much every bit as badass as the song is...combined together, this single becomes a genuine force to be reckoned with. Love the way the movement of the video syncs up so incredibly well with the most significant transitions in the music's structure and flow - it's details like this that make all the difference.

- This film was put together to mark the 25th anniversary of the start of the Russian-Chechen war. It was mostly filmed in Karabulak refugee camp, Ingushetia, with Bentley Dean in January 2000. The Russian military had been carrying out "cleansings" in Chechnya, for four months already. Journalists were banned. An estimated 300,000 Chechens were killed in the two wars combined. Vladimir Putin cemented his power. By ordering the slaughter of the Chechen people, under the guise of "protecting Russia from terrorism".
- For Chechen civilians, Russia's 'clean-up' operations amounts to little more than genocide. Even Russian soldiers condemn their actions in Chechnya. When Ivan volunteered to fight in the second Chechen war, he had scant understanding of what he would experience. Even now, he remains deeply troubled by his time there. Lack of supplies and widespread alcoholism fueled acts of brutality. His ill equipped unit had little choice but to rob civilians. "We had to feed ourselves. Of course we turned to looting. Of course we'd kill," he says. He believes the Chechens are being forced into acts of terrorism out of desperation and revenge. "We'd come in the house and kill five people - one survives, they have nothing to live for and it becomes blood for blood." 60 year old Sowdat has seen two of her children killed by the Russians. Another two have disappeared without a trace. "It's genocide and it's conducted openly," states Ruslan Badalov, of the Chechen Salvation Committee. Despite Putin's assurance to the contrary, Chechens believe that a bloody war is being waged against them. Daily 'disappearances' in every village tell the same story. It seems that Russia's campaign to impose order is creating the terrorism they mean to crush.'

- For more than a year, TV cameras were given unique access into a secret subculture: the 200 families of the Adass Israel community, Australia's most ultra-Orthodox Jewish sect, as they strive to maintain their ancient faith in the modern world. Though they themselves shun television and the seductive temptations and trappings of modernity, they agreed to go on camera for the very first time. But not everyone inside this ultra-strict, ultra-insular and virtually self-sufficient community approved: some members opposed the filming because they view exposure to the outside world as a challenge to their strictly Jewish way of life, which largely comprises of piety and prayer.
