- Andy and Jill are interrupted by Jill's husband. Silas maintains an unconventional affair with Kiku, while Shane makes new friends. Meanwhile, Doug and Whit are pitched new business ideas.
- Jackie is still incensed at having found Eddie in her house and tells him to stay away; he's not very receptive to the idea. Zoey performs brilliantly when a young child is brought in unable to breathe. A patient with stage 3 lymphoma is brought to the hospital but Dr. Cooper doesn't react well to Jackie's suggested treatment. She decides to help him out anyways. Dr. O'Hara and self-confessed sex addict Sam take it to the next level.
- Fiona turns her attentions to a cop, Tony, but Steve isn't willing to give up without a fight; Ian is targeted by the brothers of a girl he spurned; the family searches for the elderly aunt who owns their house.
- Jackie sleeps with Eddie at his apartment and tells him to stop seeing Kevin. Posters with Dr. Cooper's face are plastered all over the city, much to the disgust of Jackie and Dr. O'Hara. Jackie treats a female Iraq war vet with PTSD. Dr. O'Hara's ex, Sarah Khouri, comes to town and they're back on. With Eddie and the Pill-O-Matix becoming less reliable sources, Jackie finds ways to get pills. Eddie ignores Jackie's request and invites Kevin out. Jackie allows Fiona to have a fake cast on her arm for her birthday.
- Adam is not talking to his mother again since she caught him watching porn, which was bad enough, but what made it worse was that she continued to watch it with him and analyzed why it wasn't realistic from a female's point of view. Cathy realizes what she did with Adam was wrong, but she still wants to make sure that at age fourteen he is not yet having sex, and that when he does that he can both talk to her about anything in that vein and that he treat the girl properly. As she deals with this issue, she is beginning to see physical beauty around her, which includes blue iris flowers, her own body and how best to show it off, and the sexy new muralist at the school named Lenny. Meanwhile, Paul has sustained a rugby injury which has him sidelined, but not in the eyes of "rugby tart", Tina. And the building in which Sean is living is scheduled for demolition. The only way he figures he can save his makeshift home is to play the game by acting like one of the masses who has conformed to society. He gets an unexpected hand in looking the part.
- Everyone at the hospital is put out - especially Dr. O'Hara - when Dr. Cooper is listed in a monthly magazine as one of the 25 best doctors in Manhattan. Jackie is less than pleased when Kaitlin shows up on a play date at her house. She's even less pleased when Kaitlin sees her snorting a line. At the hospital, she's almost caught taking drugs out of the dispensary using Zoey's access number. Back at home, she's dumbfounded when she sees who husband Kevin's new friend is.
- Jackie is mad a husband Kevin when he reveals that he went to the movies with Ginny Flynn and the kids during the children's play date. Jackie decides to sleep on the couch. At the hospital, Gloria Akalitus is still concerned about the seepage in the drug lockup and posts a security guard at the machine, which doesn't seem to do much good. Sam still pursues Dr. O'Hara, who saw it all as a one night stand. O'Hara also reveals to Jackie that she knows a famous international TV news correspondent. Akalitus asks Dr. Cooper if he will be the face of a new promotional campaign directed at patients who have the ability to pay.
- A sad and lonely Debbie steals a little boy from a birthday party, forcing the family to scheme a way to return him; a web of lies ends in a marriage proposal from Kevin, who is already married.
- Jackie is spending time with her family at the beach but still shows that she's in charge. At the hospital, Gloria is concerned with the growing disappearance of drugs and gets Jackie to give training to staff on how the properly use the dispensing system. Dr. Cooper lodges a formal complaint against her and she comes within inches of being shot when a deranged patient fires their gun at no one in particular. Eddie is still trying to contact her but she ignores him completely. Until he finds a way to get her attention that she simply cannot avoid.
- Tara starts her psychology classes in fine form as one of her alters, Shoshana the psychologist emerges. She's thoroughly embarrassed but her teacher, Dr. Harris seems quite relaxed about it all. Until his next class where his comments about DID upset her. Meanwhile, Max continues losing customers to a competitor who has a solution for him: sell out to them and take a full-time job with them. The deal doesn't include Neil however. Kate decides she wants to go to Japan as an English teacher. Marshall and Lionel are assigned to make a film together.

Max is finding that his new job a Orgaworld isn't quite what he had expected. Marshall doesn't think their film is good enough to submit to the film festival leading to a major disagreement with Noah. Kate starts her training as a flight attendant and seems to be getting on quite well. Charmaine and Neal meanwhile are emotionally and physically drained by their newborn daughter but the new mom steadfastly refuses Tara's offer of help.
- Eddie tells Jackie he can't keep lying to Kevin, whom he now considers a real friend. Akalitus announces that All Saints is vying for a visit from Michelle Obama and confides to Jackie that O'Hara is looking for work at another hospital. Coop tries to bury the hatchet with Sam. The rift between Jackie and O'Hara softens when Jackie tells her that she'll follow her to any hospital just to be near her. Kevin tells Jackie his buddy Eddie called and is out of a job and asks if she can put in a good word for him at All Saints.
- Sean's infatuation with the lovely "Pucks!" actress Morning Randolph is given an opportunity to blossom when Matt invites the two of them to a charity benefit. Sean realizes that his attraction to her may be, in fact, mutual. Meanwhile, Beverly and Carol share a joint and commiserate about the men in their lives. At the end of the night, Sean has a difficult choice to make, and Beverly learns that she has more to worry about in regard to her husband and the actress than even she realized.
- Sean and Beverly have to retrieve Matt from a seedy bar outside of LA so that the paparazzi waiting outside won't see him driving home drunk. What follows is an all-night road trip which takes the trio from a run-in with a paparazzo to Matt's ex-wife's house and finally to his son's bedroom, where Matt is forced to confront the mess he's made of his life. The transformative evening even manages to bring Matt and Beverly closer together. The question is: for how long?
- BAFTA-winning sitcom Lyan's Boys script writers Sean and Beverly Lincoln are startled by US studio boss Merc Lapidus's offer to work on a remake in Hollywood. Sean persuades suspicious Bev, who is at least impressed by the grand, albeit fake, residence they get to use, despite the insufferably dull security guard. Their superb Shakespearian lead star Julian Bullard was supposed to be part of the deal, but Lapidus insists on a 'formality audition', which goes wrong on account of accent prejudices. The Brits are startled to hear the studio intends to sign up sitcom (Friends, Joey) star Matt LeBlanc. Yet by now they know the studio isn't committed to anything content-wise.
- Convinced that Sean is having an affair with Morning, Beverly packs a bag and leaves, intending to head back to London. However, in her distress, she is unaware that she's driving on the left side of the road. Beverly doesn't realize her mistake until she has a head-on collision - a collision which leads her down a road with even more dire consequences.
- Beverly can't stand Matt, and the feeling is mutual. As it's all she can do not to throttle the star of her show, she tells her husband, "He's yours." Sean and Matt end up spending the day together, including an extended adventure in Las Vegas. Soon the two guys are bonded, leaving Beverly feeling excluded by her husband's new bromance. Later, in a confrontation with Matt, Beverly learns just how "big" a star Matt LeBlanc actually is.
- Sean and Beverly are still reeling from the network's decision to cast Matt LeBlanc as the star of their show. But when they meet him at a swanky LA dinner party at Merc's house, Matt couldn't be more charming or flattering about their show. Unfortunately, over time the natural animosity between Matt and Beverly rises to the surface, and Beverly learns just how much you don't want the former Friend as an enemy.
- Kate is less than thrilled with her mother's new friendship with Lynda. Kate accuses her mother of taking away all that's important to her. Kate is also starting to connect on the Internet in her Valhalla Hawkwind persona. She's not quite ready for what transpires. Charmaine is still trying to figure out a way to have Neil's baby but stick with Nick. She finally tells Nick what's going on and not surprisingly, he doesn't take it well. As for Tara, her alters haven't made an appearance for a while and gets ready for a neighborhood art show. Max's appraisal of her art doesn't go over well and they have a fight leading a fed up Max to pay a call on someone.
- A manhunt ensues after Frank goes on a bender and turns up missing on Friday, the day he never fails to cash his disability check, and turns up in Toronto with no idea how he got there.
- Tracy spends the weekend at her girlfriend Stamie's house and strains to keep up with Stamie's three little ones. Is she ready for the responsibility of full-time parenting? Mikey has charged herself with producing the best Fashion Weekend LA has ever seen. After finding the perfect location for her client, she races off to receive an award from the Chamber of Commerce. She can't wait to share her big night with Raquel, but she's nowhere to be found and devastating news about the venue further riles Mikey. Whitney is overwhelmed, both with Tor moving in and her complicated feelings for Sara. At a bar, she again runs into recent hookup, Romi - and this time their exchange ends in a kiss! Will Whitney be able to juggle all of these relationships? Nikki and Jill are hoping to turn a book about 'sexual fluidity' into a documentary, a topic close to Jill. It comes into greater focus when her best friend Derek pays a visit and it's revealed how close the two came to dating. Rose and Natalie celebrate their seven-month anniversary with a romantic dinner followed by a steamy nightcap at home. Later, Rose's father encourages Rose to reconcile with her estranged mother - their feud is tearing the family apart. With pressure from Natalie and her family mounting, Rose cuts loose at a debaucherous game night with friends but it quickly turns into a major blowout.
- Jackie's back in the swing of things, having re-hidden her stash of pills in the basement and mended fences with O'Hara. Zoey's working her first double and Jackie worries about her burning out. Lou, an out-of-work salesman, comes into the hospital and wins everyone over. O'Hara accepts the title of ER chief, which sparks a competitive streak in Coop. Kevin invites Eddie to a backyard barbecue to celebrate his new job. When Jackie gets home, she sees empty closets and drawers and panics-did Kevin leave her? She finds out he went to an Al-Anon meeting and the drawers are emptied because of a clothing drive at the school. Jackie asks Kevin to walk to the parish with her; she thinks they mistakenly gave away some sentimental items. She digs through the box of Grace's baby clothes to find what she was looking for-tiny mittens with bags of pills stashed inside.
- Cathy finds that her experience with the great Dr. Atticus Sherman isn't anything like she thought it would be. In addition to not appreciating his bedside manner, not believing that he pays any attention to her file, or not believing that he sees her anything more than another nameless face in his office, Cathy learns he is conducting a clinical trial, about which she learns from another of his stage 4 patients, an extremely positive woman named Nadine, in which he has no space for her. Meanwhile, Cathy and Sean's relationship is still strained over the fact that she kept her illness a secret from him for so long. As such, he is functioning even less well than normal, which means that Cathy is replacing him in many of Rebecca's "baby partner" functions. Rebecca makes an unusual request of Cathy, and further tells Cathy of a decision that doesn't sit well with her. And Cathy's return to work, where everyone now knows of her illness, places both her and Adam in an uncomfortable position.
- Now that Paul knows about Cathy's melanoma, he wants to help her in any way he can, including investigating alternate treatments. He is also still trying to get over the fact that he lost three months in trying to help her, three months in her probably shortened life. Cathy tries to explain to him why she didn't didn't tell him sooner. Paul, in dealing with the spouse of someone who died of cancer, begins to move closer to Cathy's way of thinking. Meanwhile, Rebecca tells Sean that she is moving to Minneapolis, but doesn't quite get the reaction she wanted. In a girls' bonding session, Marlene, Cathy and Rebecca go out for lunch to an unusual locale, an incident at which makes Cathy believe that Paul's thoughts about dealing with her illness aren't completely wrong. And Cathy learns about Marlene's Alzheimer's.
- Nancy plans a family dinner while tending to her pot business.
- Tara recalls another childhood memory of Mimi; at a bicentennial parade, a young Tara tells Charmaine that they can't go home. Tara confides to Charmaine about Max's infidelity, as well as her new memories of Mimi, realizing that she only experiences the memories while in the house next door. After being encouraged by Charmaine, Tara asks Beverly about the childhood memories; Beverly quickly changes the subject to Charmaine's wedding. Neil gives Charmaine the forms signing away his parental rights. Max holds an open house for his newly finished re-model of the house. During the open house, Alice emerges, scaring off potential clients. Kate and Zach begin dating. Marshall and Lionel go cruising at a local park. After forgiving Max for his infidelity, Tara transitions into Buck, who punches Max for sleeping with Pammy.
- Drunken father Frank is of no use to his dysfunctional family; Fiona meets a handsome stranger when her purse is stolen; Lip is shocked to discover his brother Ian is gay.
- Much to Jackie's surprise, Kevin's younger sister, Tunie, shows up in the girls' bedroom, freshly hungover and tragically heartbroken after being dumped by her pilot boyfriend. On their way to work, Jackie tells Eddie she thinks Kevin installed Tunie to monitor her in the wake of his intervention. Lenny prepares Zoey a romantic picnic lunch only to crack her tooth when she bites into a sandwich where he's hidden his house key. Zoey talks things over with God, who's set up a makeshift piano bar in the ambulance bay. At the hospital, a Jewish Orthodox husband fights with his in-laws to have his critically injured wife moved to Beth Israel for a necessary operation. Later, bedlam ensues in the ER when two street meat vendors are brought in after a comically brutal turf war.
- Since she knows she won't reach retirement age, Cathy decides to withdraw all the funds from her retirement plan and do whatever she wants to with the money without a care. Among other things, she indulges on material goods such as an expensive bottle of champagne, which she shares with her new confidante, Marlene. But her biggest purchase is a red convertible sports car, which she can't drive since she doesn't know how to drive a stick shift. Regardless, she decides to spend the day with her new toy and Dr. Todd house hunting while pretending to be his older girlfriend. In the process, she liberates a lobster. That time with Dr. Todd shows her where her true future lies. Meanwhile, Paul, looking for something meaningful to do in his life while he's not at home, decides to head back to his school days and play rugby again. Sean, who has a toothache, refuses Cathy's offer of paying for a dental visit. Sean goes to extreme measures to deal with the tooth. And Marlene takes on the role of pretend grandmother to Adam, whether he likes it or not.
- Whitney welcomes one-time flame Sara to town and the girls waste no time getting reacquainted, but their hot weekend together ends all too quickly and just as Whitney says goodbye to her, another former flame arrives in town indefinitely and did we mention flame number three, Romi? After a wild night out with friends, Rose dutifully returns home to Natalie, her girlfriend of seven months. Monogamy still doesn't come easy for this "reformed player" and the pressure her family dishes out to settle down doesn't help. For Nikki and Jill, wedding bells are already in the air - but wedding planning with two brides can be stressful! The ladies enlist the help of a wedding planner to produce their elegant affair but just as Nikki's nerves begin to subside, Jill's anxiety skyrockets when she sees the price tag attached to their dream nuptials. As producer of LA Fashion Weekend, Mikey is no stranger to stress. She's on a tight schedule and doesn't have time for ill-prepared models and lets their agency feel her wrath. Tracy is new to the lesbian scene and finally coming into her own, but her mother's don't ask, don't tell policy is difficult for her - especially since there's so much to talk about, like her new relationship with Stamie, which has its own complications.
- Jackie is on edge after realizing the stash of pills she stole from Bill the epileptic drug dealer is quickly dwindling. With a head of steam, Jackie confronts Eddie about his recent text exchanges with Kevin's younger sister, Tunie. Eddie maintains that it's completely innocent, while making the point that Jackie has no leg to stand on. Coop remains determined to battle O'Hara for the ER Chief title, but suffers a huge emotional blow when his mothers announce they're divorcing. Lou, the down-on-his-luck salesman, returns to the ER much worse for the wear. Akalitus enlists Jackie and Thor to help her ferry the Virgin Mary statue to Eddie's storage room, where it will be safe from repossession during the Catholic Church's impending de-consecration. Later, Jackie and O'Hara spar over whether to confront a belligerent mother who's making false claims about her daughter's need for treatment in order to stay on public assistance. At the end of a long, grueling day Jackie hits a new low when she makes her first illicit drug transaction with Bill.
- A scrappy, feisty, fiercely loyal Chicago family makes no apologies.
- Post-birthday party, Fiona busts her lip open on her cast and Dr. O'Hara and Jackie stitch her up in the Peyton kitchen. Jackie notices Sarah Khouri's philandering behavior and brings up her concerns to Dr. O'Hara. Libby Sussman, the uber-patron of All Saints, is brought into the ER.
- Cathy learns from Dr. Mauer that she probably has at least a year to live if not longer, which gives her some perspective of how much time she has left to do the things she wants. Chief among these is spending time with Adam. So instead of allowing him to go away to soccer camp for six weeks over the summer, she decides unilaterally for him to stay home over the summer so that they can spend time together. Cathy's actions seem crazy to Adam and Paul, both who still don't know about her medical diagnosis. Regardless, Cathy goes to extreme lengths to get what she wants. Dr. Mauer's time estimate also makes Cathy examine her body image, which she is doing truly for the first time in her life. What she sees surprises her. Meanwhile, Paul still isn't sure why Cathy won't let him come home and thus suggests they attend marriage counseling. Cathy treats the sessions with the knowledge of what she knows is the problem in relation to her health situation without divulging anything about the melanoma.
- During the course of their continuing sexual relationship where they do it anywhere they can on unofficial breaks during the school day, Lenny notices a lump on Cathy's lower back side. Dr. Todd's diagnosis is that the cancer is showing itself, but that it does not necessarily mean that the cancer is getting worse. As it is purely a cosmetic issue, Cathy can choose to leave the lump or have it removed. She chooses the latter, and asks the only person who knows, Marlene, to pick her up after the surgery. The lump makes Marlene try to convince Cathy to tell her family about the cancer. It makes Cathy reevaluate her sexual relationship with Lenny and think about bringing her family back together, which includes not only Paul but also Sean. She figures that entering the family into a charity bathtub race, a race they used to always participate in and enjoy, but which Cathy stopped doing because of all the work involved on her end, is a good start. Some news from Paul, and Andrea finding out about Cathy and Lenny could bring Cathy's current plans crashing down around her.
- Tara and Max's relationship is at a low ebb. After their fight at the art show, Max spent the night with waitress Pammy. It was supposed to be a one night stand with no strings attached but the next day she has a change of heart. Kate is growing a little weary of the kooks she's met on her website but is intrigued by one client who asks her out on a date. He turns out to be something of a surprise. Max and his friend have an interesting meeting with a school counselor. Charmaine tries to get Neal to sign away his parental rights to the baby now that she has Nick on side about the pregnancy.

Kate leaves on her trip to Japan but does so without saying goodbye to anyone, much to Tara's annoyance. Events in Japan conspire against her even getting out of the airport however. Tara is planning a baby shower but Charmaine doesn't think she's helping so Alice emerges and neatly organizes everything. When Tara and Charmaine go grocery shopping T emerges causing her usual havoc.
- A nine episode one-hour series that follows a group of real-life Los Angeles lesbians as they go about their daily lives, at work and play.
- Cathy still isn't feeling like she can let Paul back in the house or in her life. Adam is still angry with her and avoids her at all cost. And Sean still believes that Cathy is too uptight with who to hang out. So at this crucial time in her life, Cathy is feeling all alone, that is except for Thomas, Marlene's beagle, who always seems to be following her around. Her attempts at bringing Sean - and his girlfriend Daphne - and Adam and Andrea as meaningful parts of her life don't end up quite the way she envisions. As such, Cathy decides to attend a cancer support group. But those in the group end up being way too happy and upbeat for her liking, they seeing their cancer as it is a gift. Regardless, the support group appoints itself as her "Team Cathy" whether she likes it or not, as they believe that she really does need someone in her life for support. She has to decide if Paul is a better option, he who really does want to move back in. Thomas may find Cathy an unexpected substitute.
- Dr. O'Hara shows up at work still high on the Ecstasy she took the night before. Jackie deals with a young boy who may have a serious respiratory problem. His parents are thrilled when Jackie says they can do the necessary tests at All Saints but may have sent them home too early. Having recovered from his suicide attempt, Eddie visits Jackie's husband Kevin at the bar. Nurse Sam begins to ask if either Jackie or Dr. O'Hara have a drug problem. Dr. Cooper has taken to twittering and it's driving Jackie crazy.
- After Marlene tells Cathy about the distant relationship she has with her own two daughters who Cathy didn't even know existed, Cathy decides she and Sean need to go visit their own father, who she feels they don't see often enough. Sean reluctantly goes as he openly dislikes their father, who didn't give him the time of day while he was growing up. Cathy, on the other hand, loves their father, as she was seen as the good one during her and Sean's childhood. This road trip ends up being one of discovery for both Cathy and Sean, those discoveries which affect the way she ultimately relates to her father, especially in light of the way he relates to her, which is the same way he's related to her, Sean and their now deceased mother for their entire lives. Meanwhile, Paul is at the house being Dad to Adam during Cathy's absence. But it isn't quite clear if there is an adult figure between the two.
- After avoiding Eddie, O'Hara and the drug dealer who has come looking for his stolen pills, Jackie takes off early for a family vacation upstate. But when Jackie misplaces the stash of pills she brought to get her through the vacation, she starts to unravel bit by bit.
- Charmaine goes into labor but is angry at Tara who, under stress from an excess of school work and the pressure of upcoming exams, has various alters emerge. After the baby is born, Charmaine makes it clear she can't trust Tara and doesn't want her around her baby. Having renegotiated a new assignment in Japan, Katr has a last minute panic attack and doesn't get on her flight. She delays going home by hanging around the airport and a new revelation suggests another career choice. A bit of advice from a flight attendant opens her eyes. It also leads to a crisis of confidence in herself. Tara tries to get out of a scheduled test but Dr. Hattaras isn't very sympathetic. At a meeting with her alters, Tara lays down the law. The time and place for the meeting isn't quite appropriate.
- After a disastrous family vacation, Jackie returns to work for a day of reckoning. The mounting pressures and conflicts in her personal and professional lives reach a boiling point. Unexpected alliances lead to revelations that even Jackie can't avoid. Between Dr. O'Hara, Eddie, Kevin and the drug dealer, the wagons are circling around Jackie Peyton.
- Max is not happy with the revelation that she didn't tell him about her alter Buck re-emerging. She agrees to find a new analyst but the person she settles on lives in New York and their sessions will be by telephone. Marshall and Courtney meanwhile continue their sexual experimentation but with interesting results for both of them. Kate poses for some of Lynda's paintings and has a suggestion on how she could make money on the works. Charmaine and her fiancé have a big announcement. While in the house next door, Tara has memories of her childhood playing with Charmaine. As Max learns, she's up to something altogether different as well.
