The author of this picture play, Laura Colfax has written a very convincing story, the scenes of which call heavily upon the sympathy of the audience. A father through his avarice brings suffering and death to his own child. There is a fine illustration of a young husband being forced to obtain a loan from the "loan shark" to provide necessities for his sick wife, for the payments of which he is hounded to desperation. Van Dyke Brooke, Norma Talmadge and Antonio Moreno most ably portray the leading characters. There is a surprising denouement which makes of this a most pleasing offering. - The Moving Picture World, October 24, 1914
