The Seven Sisters was Marguerite Clark's 6th silent film and is now presumed lost. In this romantic comedy, she plays Mici along with seven sisters living in a Budapest household. Tradition believes that if one of the younger daughters marries first, all of the older sisters are doomed to live out their lives as old maids. The youngest daughter at five years of age, Clara ( Madge Evans ) is not considered a threat, nor are the next two daughters. But Mici being the fourth oldest and much admired by eligible men as potential husbands, drives her older sisters into a panic. They decide for their own protection from becoming old maids, to have Mici shipped off to a convent school. Mici is now living a very secluded life, but the young girl manages to escape long enough to attend a masked ball. She meets handsome Count Horkoy ( Conway Tearle ) and they fall in love. A happy ending prevails for all, as the Count helps to find suitable husbands for Mici's older sisters.
The Seven Sisters was directed by Sidney Olcott and was based on a play by Edith Ellis Furnes and Ferenc Herczeg. It was distributed by Paramount Pictures and released on July 26, 1915. Sadly this film remains on the long list of lost silents.
