Violet Mersereau Lost Film
PamelaShort13 January 2015
Warning: Spoilers
Jeanette Arden dies during childbirth, and the baby girl is named Autumn ( Violet Mersereau ). The child's father George Arden ( Lester Stowe ) while going for help for his dying wife, received a head injury leaving him with amnesia, so Autumn is raised by her godfather. Years pass and Royal Mounted Canadian Policeman, Dick Leslie ( Percy Richards ) is assigned the case of finding George. Dick meets Autumn, who also comes to the attention of a slick gambler, Diamond Jack ( Paul Panzer ). When Jack's jealous girlfriend Spanish Kate sees him kissing Autumn, she kills him. Now both women are charged with the murder, but Dick is able to prove Autumn's innocence. Autumns father George is finally found and an operation restores his memory, while Autumn and George now happily plan their marriage.

This 1916 film produced by the Universal Film Manufacturing Company, starring the lovely actress Violet Mersereau, sadly remains on the long list of lost silent films.
