Little Miss Nobody - Lost Film
PamelaShort14 January 2015
Warning: Spoilers
Innocent orphan girl Bonnie ( Violet Mersereau ) is the unfortunate object of Bull Dorgan's ( John Mackin ) bullying. Dorgan is the boorish foreman of the lumber camp who frequents the saloon owned by Bonnie's foster father. Arthur Wharton ( Sidney Mason ) a playwright, arrives in town one day, a broken hearted man because the woman he loves, Elinor Grenville ( Clara Beyers ) married another man for his money. Arthur takes pity on Bonnie and marries her to protect her from Dorgan, then leaves her in the care of his sister Charlotte while he travels to Japan. Meanwhile, Elinor has become a widow and decides she wants Arthur, and when he returns, she conspires to break up the couple and hires a man to compromise Bonnie. She almost succeeds with her plan, but Arthur and Bonnie realize their love for each other cannot be broken and together they face a happy future together.

Little Miss Nobody is now a lost film, but at the time of it's release in 1917, it was among Violet Mersereau's most successful films and she was another actress who rivalled Mary Pickford's popularity.
