According to a March 9, 1918, article in Motography Magazine, producer Thomas H. Ince leased the entire company of the Al Barnes circus for use in this film, including their personnel, animals, and props. Two of the company's members, husband-and-wife team Louis Roth and Mabel Stark, taught lead actress Enid Bennett how to interact safely with the circus' big cats.
