After submitting her photo in a magazine contest, Clara Bow was declared national winner and won a part in this film. Her acting was deemed so amateurish, however, that her scenes were cut before the picture's release. When she later became a star, her scenes were reinstated and the film was re-issued.
This was the very first film for Clara Bow. She was 16 during production.
A copy of this film, with Clara Bow's scenes intact, is currently held at the UCLA Film and Television Archive.
Beyond The Rainbow marked the film debut of Clara Bow. This was also the first film that Clara and actress Billie Dove appeared together.
This was the first of two film appearances for both Clara Bow and Billie Dove; the second film they appeared together was Kid Boots(1926), which Eddie Cantor's film debut.
