Meh
The cross-eyed, dopey humor of Ben Turpin doesn't do much for me, and he pales in comparison to the era's great comics. In this short he plays a stunt double who keeps succeeding by accident, and there are a few nice bits, but certainly nothing magical. Just kind of an average little thing, with an unfortunate scene containing the racist trope of a black man scared senseless, here literally running off so fast his clothes are left in a pile from a wanted sign of a hooded man, presumably a KKK reference. It felt a little long even at 20 minutes, which is not a good sign.
