An apparently incomplete print of this film (all six reels but missing footage from each reel) survives in the UCLA Film and Television Archives.
Star Dorothy Mackaill was nearly killed when thrown from a plane that crashed during a scene rehearsal. The pilot was killed in the crash. The crash happened the same day Valentino died (August 23, 1926).
Louise Brooks and Eddie Sutherland were married during production. Sutherland had directed Brooks in her previous picture, the W. C. Fields comedy "It's The Old Army Game".
Two hundred extras were hired for the dance hall scenes shot at Luna Park, Coney Island.
