The sequence outside the roadhouse, in which characters play "chicken" with their cars, may have been directed by Cecil B. DeMille.
This film was intended by producer Bertram Millhauser to catapult actress Sue Carol's career and to turn her into the next Hollywood "It" Girl similar to Clara Bow. However, Carol's career never took off. She retired from acting in 1937 and married Alan Ladd in 1942.
