Andy Clyde is supposed to go trout fishing with Arthur Stone. First, though, Andy's loving wife Dorothy Granger insists on feeding him a good breakfast. Then his boots need replacing, so it's off to the store, while Stone waits around as other fishermen return with their catches and he has to beat rugs for his wife.
It's Andy doing what he does best, pulling humor out of small, everyday annoyances that grow in effect, even if it's Stone being annoyed, as well as the lady customers at the department store who discover Andy walking around without pants.
With Fred Kelsey as a store detective. A dumb one, of course!
