Here's one of many travelogues produced for theatrical release. They were easy to do. Anyone with a movie camera and a ticket could do the camerawork, and then sell the resulting film to a producer. At MGM, they had recently begun their Technicolor Traveltalks under the supervision of James Fitzpatrick. However, the demand for exotic locales continued apace, and Wiliam Pizor was happy to release these through Monogram Pictures; a travelogue's lifetime was long, and these images of the Nile Valley, the village cut off from land during the annual flooding, the journey to the market, and the Bedouin wedding were strange enough to the markets that Monogram sold into to guarantee a profit.
