  Hattie : Oh, leave it there. It reminds me not to like him!

  Lil : Stinko again!

  Hattie : Oh, I made out. Take a squint at that?

  Hattie : Why, you dirty woman beater!

  Lil : Gee, Hattie, are you hurt?

  [to Dutch] 

  Lil : You beast!

  Hattie : That big ape couldn't hurt me.

  [rubbing her behind] 

• Lil : What did Dutch Muller say?

  Hattie : That false alarm, if he'd come near the place they'd a turn the hose on him.

  Lil : He's going out with the fleet this morning for tuna.

  Hattie : Yeah, I know. I'm gonna throw my arms around his neck with my head on his shoulder and tell him to go jump down a whale.

  Lil : It makes you feel better, don't it honey, runnin' a guy down when you're stuck on him.

  Hattie : Who? Dutch Muller? The "Big I Am"? I don't mean nuthin' to him and he means less to me. So, that makes us both happy.

• Lil : Well, you're in a fine pickle now!

• Lil : Don't be like me. I married Pete for love and look at what I got: two kids and a lumbago.
