- Federal agents and smugglers battle it out over lost secret papers.
- Chapter One DANGEROUS MEN - Terry Navarro (Dave O'Brien), the Santa Clara agent of the Caswell Shiping Company, arrives at a desert port to deliver some important papers to Frank Caswell (Bryant Washburn) . Dorothy Dale (Ruth Mix) and Walter Presscott (Ralph Graves), American secret service operatives, go after Terry to intercept the papers believing that they will have some significance in trapping smugglers who are using the Caswell ships. James Hackett (Robert Frazer), another of Caswell's agents, also goes after the papers. Arabian tribesmen, headed by Ali Ben Aba (Pete De Grasse) are also after the papers. Terry is taken prisoner by the Arabs. He tries to escape, but, chased by Arabs, he makes a misstep and crashes over a tall balcony. His fall seems to spell his death. - Chapter Two THE MYSTERY SHIP - A tree breaks Terry's fall. He gets word to Caswell and his daughter, Virginia Caswell(Constance Bergen)that they must leave by the first plane. He promises to deliver the papers. Shark Malone (Robert Walker), one of Hackett's men, tries to get the papers from Caswell while the plane is in flight, but, when the situation becomes desperate, Terry emerges from his hiding place in the cockpit and restores order after a desperate fight with Malone and one of his men Quinn McGuire (Blackie Whiteford). After the plane has reached California, Terry is once more captured and questioned about the papers. He is shanghaied aboard the Sea Gull, pushed into a bag and thrown overboard. - Chapter Three THE FATAL PLUNGE - Terry is saved by a passing motorboat. He goes to Caswell's house and meets two phony detectives sent there by Henry Jensen (Matthew Betz), head of the smugglers. Terry is once more seized.Meantime, the men of the 'Sea Gull' have mutinied and thrown their captain, Shark Malone, overboard. He washes up half-dead on the shore of the estate in Santa Barbara, California of Terry's father, Don Pedro Navarro (Josef Swickward), Malone learns that Don Pedro is the owner of two Black Coins. Meanwhile, Dorothy has been following Hackett, suspicious of some dirty dealing. Jensen's men lay an ambush and, as her car swings up to the bridge, the bridge opens and Dorothy is thrown into the water.To Be Continued.—Les Adams <longhorn1939@suddenlink.net>
- Chaaptr Four MONSTERS OF THE DEEP -Terry visits his father, who tells him he has befriended a sailor castaway who retaliated by stealing one of hos Black Coins. Don Pedro tells Terry that the sailor said his name was Captain Bucko Anderson (Wayne Carter.) Terry sets out to find Anderson.Meantime, the boat carrying the Caswells to San Pedro has sunk, and Terry rushes to the Caswell's aid. He explains his presence in San Pedro. Caswell instructs Hackett to recover a metal box containing important papers, from the shipwreck. Terry and Malone overhear these instructions.
