Stage actress Lucille La Verne provided the voice of "The Bomber". It was surprising for La Verne to do a cartoon since, at that time, many stage actors refused to do film, much less a cartoon. About a year later, La Verne voiced the Wicked Queen/Old Crone, in Disney's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937).
Alarm clocks of the era often had luminous dials. These were made with radioactive Radium-226, which, sadly, often led to cancer in the employees that helped produce them.
Although Porky appears not to be wearing trousers, he still sticks his hands in something like pockets.
The Bomber is likely a nod to the numerous radio dramas of the day that featured a dark, evil character terrorizing a metropolis.
