This is the first Warner Bros. cartoon in which Tex Avery uses his voice .
Cartoons of this era were shown to cinema audiences, both adults and children. The gag of two turtles sharing the same shell before taking wedding vows was just this side of the Production Code, as were the two supposedly prior children of the groom. In the latter scenario, the couple eventually made up and married, which is what the code generally required.

Cupid and Satan resemble the popular Kewpie dolls of the era.
In "Hare Splitter," Bugs Bunny references this short by calling himself "Daniel Cupid" as he tries to trick his romantic rival, Casbah.
