On stage in 1944, they appeared together in a modern version of "Lady Chatterly's Lover" at the Geary Theater in San Francisco. After only six years of marriage, tragically, 42-year-old Robinson was killed in October 1949 in Los Angeles in a motorcycle accident. He left a widow with two sons.
