Quintain has his dog on a lead while he talks to Dodd outside the studios, but for a few seconds, the lead disappears, and Quintain and Dodd walk away from the camera without the dog then as they walk up some stairs to enter a building, the dog and lead are back.
Elvira's mother tells Dodd that she read in the newspaper he was coming to Hollywood to take charge of Colossal, but it doesn't explain how she knew when he would arrive and where he would be staying.
As accountant Atterbury Dodd walks through the accounts department, a clerk gives him a slip containing a list of figures which total 1,296,221. Dodd says: "There's an error in the addition. The total should be 1,296,321. Have the machine fixed". The total however is correct. The figures - 63,155; 122,925; 57,005; 54,685; 404,200; 56,705; 122,925; 54,685; 305,250; 54,686 - add up to 1,296,221.
Naomi is crestfallen to learn that she can only get work as an extra in the remake of the film she had starred in. While the scene is meant to underscore the transitory and cruel nature of show business (a point made later when Lester attempts to explain to the clueless Dodd why she can't book a role, despite having been a star as a child), it's inconceivable that the producers would pass on the opportunity to capitalize on the nostalgic aspect of the remake by not offering a role to the star of the original.
