The story by Courtney Ryley Cooper was first published in January, 1921, by Red Book Magazine (Volume 36, #3).
This was the first of 29 B-westerns Johnny Mack Brown made for Universal over a four-year period, concluding with "The Lone Star Trail" in 1943. All of them co-starred Fuzzy Knight.
"Ridin' Home," which Bob Baker sings during the film, was also used (in an orchestral arrangement) over the opening credits of this and many subsequent Brown westerns for Universal.
