This is a movie about babies for people who dislike babies.

Baby Sandy certainly is a charmer. For the half dozen or more Universal programmers I've seen with her, she has won me over completely. This is her second film following the Bing Crosby / Joan Blondell musical "East Side of Heaven" (the only one of her films available commercially), and Baby Sandy is a shear delight in it. Once again, she's an orphan, and to keep her out of the hands of her nasty uncle (Paul Guilfoyle), theater usher Dennis O'Keefe and puppeteer Mischa Auer take her in, only to be quarranteened for measles. This causes issues for O'Keefe and his dancer girlfriend (Florence Rice) who decides that she wants custody of her. It's obvious where this will end, but it's fun watching how it gets there.

While this has some very light-hearted moments, this is more dramatic than the majority of Baby Sandy's films. the most amusing moment occurs when O'Keefe, hiding Baby Sandy backstage at the theater he works at, becomes unaware that Sandy has somehow gotten on stage, and end up stealing the show. In fact, there are several dance numbers throughout the film. Familiar faces such as Jane Darwell and Charles Lane appear in smaller roles, but it's Sandy whom you will remember. Make that Sandy and Auer's puppets, although one obviously black puppet is rather crude in its stereotypical look.
