It's all about pickles in this B Universal musical farce where lookalike cousins cause a ton of confusion in the bequest of Whickett's pickles. Small town cousin Herbert goes to New York to collect his inheritance, and total confusion ensues. It's a game of words as a very everybody in the film seems like a mental hospital escapee. A game show of ridiculous questions, a wise cracking parrot, multiple confusions over who is who, and it's obvious that Universal was still trying to capture on their success with the film version of "Hellzapoppin'". Jane Frazee provides the songs Mischa Auer is a sardonic taxi driver, and with Herbert, there are twice as many giggles and "Woo hoo's" as normal. Other funny people such as Sterling Holloway, Robert Paige as Frazee's rather goofy love interest, plus Ernest Truex, Claude Alister and Tim Ryan provide a really amusing hour. This is for modern audiences who haven't forgotten how to laugh and is a nice surprise.
