The two vaudeville performers, Fred and Ward, are caricatures of animators Ward Kimball and Fred Moore.
Other signs on the theater also allude to Disney staffers, including Ben Sharpsteen ("Gen. J. Sharpsteen, Dentist"), Wilfred Jackson ("Wilfred Jaxon for Feed and Fuel") and musician Frank Churchill ("Prof. Churchill, Pianos Tuned").
The "Father, Dear Father" sequence was edited out of the short when it aired on Toon Disney, due to its depiction of alcoholism.
This is the only classic Mickey Mouse short in which Daisy, Huey, Dewey, and Louie appear.
