One of a number of Popeye shorts that were sent off to Asia in the 1980s to undergo the infamous redraw and colorization process.
This is the first appearance of the nephew named Poopeye. In Wimmin Is a Myskery (1940), where the other 3 children debuted, he was called Pepeye.
References are made by Popeye to pianist Paderewski, actor and dancer Fred Astaire, and prize fighter Jack Dempsey, all popular figures of the era.
Although Popeye and Olive both have nephews, their siblings are never introduced to the series.
As the short opens with Popeye and his nephews at the table, the tune playing is the same one Poopdeck Pappy juggled to and sang on a rooftop in the previous year's short, "Problem Pappy."
