Moe Howard actually broke some of his ribs during filming the scene in which Curly Howard accidentally saws through the table Moe is standing on, causing it to collapse. This scene was actually taken from the earlier short "Pardon my Scotch".
In one scene Moe Howard answers the phone and is told that the "ape man" is robbing a store. He asks, "Where?", then says, "The Bruckman Building? OK!". Veteran comedy writer Clyde Bruckman had written the scripts for several of The Three Stooges ' shorts, although not this one.
The Three Stooges as carpenters (when Moe Howard broke his ribs) was stock footage from Pardon My Scotch (1935).
This short was released February 5, 1943, 9 days before Ray Corrigan's (Bonzo the Gorilla) 41st birthday (born 02-14-1902).
Columbia production reel #529.
