I consider myself a tough critic when it comes to the numerical rating of each film that I watch. If I like a film but don't find something remarkable about it, I'll simply read it as good which on my scale is 6 out of 10. Anything above that is to me a very good film, and even though this is your standard be murder mystery comedy, it is way above average. It is fast-moving, suspenseful, funny and filled with interesting twists and turns and fun performances.
It surrounds the murder of a radio actress home other actors on The mystery show she is part of have considered the worst actress they've ever worked with, but that's never motive for murder, no matter how bad they are. series actress Ruth Terry decides to investigate the murder when she gets some clues and finds herself up against columnist Frank Albertson who has been harassing her all along and it like hearted but pesky manner.
Along with radio stunt woman Mary Treen ,(there is such thing, otherwise who would make the corpse's fall to make the landing sound?), Terry and Albertson end up in several Adventures which leaves them terrified but has the audience in stitches. Everything comes together in a nice little programmer from Republic Studios that will keep your attention for its short running time and provide many an element of surprise. Treen steals every moment that she is on screen proves herself of being a capable major supporting actor rather than just a bit player that she spent most of her career as.
