Warning: Spoilers
Hired by newspaper publisher Henry Hull to knock him off, racketeer Don "Red" Barry slowly decides to find out why such a seemingly decent man would want to have himself killed. He finds out that whole has an ungrateful family with a self-centered daughter who goes through men like Kleenex, a partying son who has no real direction in life and a socialite wife who is as empty-headed as she is morally bankrupt. Barry decides the best way to help Hull is to put him in hiding while he goes out of his way to change the way the family lives. It's really a ridiculous story, but with Nana Bryant as the wife and Dale Evans and Peter Lawford as the children, at least there are some interesting cast members to look at. The opening scene where hole is trying to get a hold of Barry who is Ironically in the corridor is hysterical, thanks to the hot-headed reaction of the receptionist. I'd like to single out who played her, as well as Hull's housekeeper, but with the credits as listed was unable to determine who played those parts. this is identified as a drama but the first 20 minutes are played as a comedy which makes the sudden change from humorous to sentimental a rather bizarre Jump In theme.
