When big city reporter Robert Livingston buys a struggling small town newspaper, he is fooled by judge Thurston Hall's niece Ruth Terry into reporting on a false story that makes it appear that there is hanky panky going on. Humiliated by this, Livingston dresses in drag and makes it appear that Hall has kidnapped the strange girl from Maude Eburne's boarding house. This leads to a series of outlandish situations that are more twisted than a country road leading nowhere.
This obscure Republic B comedy programmer features a good supporting cast of character comics including Hall, Eburne, Lloyd Corrigan, Olin Howland and Grant Withers. However, the script is absurd, laughably unfunny because of its convoluted premise, and the title is only present because it happens to be the last line in the movie. If it wasn't for that cast (particularly Hall and Eburne), I'd rank this a lot lower. The town is supposed to be the most uncorrupted place in the United States but evidence to the contrary threatens to throw this out of court.
