Hodor, portrayed by Kristian Nairn, has become a fan-favorite character on “Game of Thrones.”
The sweet gentle giant suffered a tragic death after he sacrificed himself to allow young Bran Stark and Meera Reed to escape. In the heartbreaking sequence, Hodor fulfilled his destiny by holding the door before losing his life to a horde of undead wights. During the scene, it was also revealed that his condition was actually caused by Bran’s presence in the past, which caused him to have a seizure that left him only able to say “hodor” – a short version of “hold the door” – for the rest of his life.
