my second exposure to Fanny Brice after "Funny Girl"
lee_eisenberg6 August 2007
I read that "Quentin Quail" was based on a Fanny Brice radio show. As I only know about Fanny Brice from "Funny Girl", I can't at all comment on this. But I can say that it's a pretty funny cartoon, as Mr. Quail tries to catch his spoiled daughter a worm. Only thing is, this particular worm is a real sadist. I'm talking one big cruel streak. Then, a crow wants the worm. Then there's a surprise ending.

So, the Fanny Brice part is one of those references that makes no sense to the audience after a number of years. As long as the cartoon makes us laugh, there's no problem. I recommend it. Available on YouTube.

Frank Sinatra. Just what did women see in him?
