People will tell you Tom Waits’ best album is Rain Dogs. This is not strictly true. It is perhaps the most Waits-ian of Tom Waits albums, by virtue of having a Waits lookalike on the cover and a song selection that ranges across virtually every genre of music (and combinations thereof) Waits could wrangle. But the best Tom Waits album is not Rain Dogs. Instead it’s Bone Machine (which netted Waits his first Grammy in 1993), and it turns 25 years old today.
Waits explained Rain Dogs’ titular inspiration to Spin in 1985: “You know, dogs in the rain lose their way back home.

It's a race to the finish between Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone for their Hollywood debut. For now, at least, Deepika has the edge. The teaser trailer of XXX: The Return Of Xander Cage shows her smouldering with Vin Diesel with an ethnic intensity as she warns him that whatever he has come for, will fall short. Viacom 18, Paramount Pictures partners in India, are planning a big January 20 release, a week ahead of the two big Bollywood releases Raees and Kaabil which opens on Republic Day Viacom has huge plans of capturing the market on release. They hope to give the two Bollywood biggies a run for their money with XXX. Unofficial source from the company explains, "Deepika plays Serena the girl who gives Diesel tit for tat. Sweden’s Way Out West Festival (Aug 13-15) will include the world premiere of Jonas Akerlund’s Roxette Diaries, about one of Sweden’s most popular bands.
“They are one of the biggest bands to come out of Sweden, and this film shows them in a new light. It was filmed during their tours from 1988 to 1995, and of course with Jonas Akerlund directing, it has a real art feel to it, he’s very brave with this material,” Svante Tidholm, Way Out West’s Head of Film Programming told Screen.
Another world premiere at the Gothenburg-based film and music festival will be Taikon, a documentary about civil rights activist and author Katarina Taikon. “She was one of the pioneers of human rights for the Romany community. It’s an amazing story and she’s an amazing character,” Tidholm added.

From the gangster drama Scarface to the classic screwball comedy of His Girl Friday, Hawks made a bewilderingly wide range of movies that feature some...
