In two movies, Kathryn Grayson sang the aria "Mi Chiamano Mimi" from Giacomo Puccini's acclaimed opera, "La Boheme" (lyrics by Luigi Illica and Giuseppe Giacosa). Miss Grayson's black-and-white performance was done for this MGM film and her Technicolor reprise, on loan to Warner Bros., was seen in the Grace Moore biopic, So This Is Love (1953).
From an original story by the producer, Samuel Marx, titled 'Shake Well Before Using', this picture was Marx' last film for the studio and a relationship that began with Irving Thalberg in 1930.
Ranked among its least popular films of 1951, resulting in a loss to MGM of $168,000 according to studio records.
