Mrs. Smithson is shown to have given birth to a full-sized baby, yet is shown lying flat on her back with a flat stomach in a hospital bed the day before. This was likely somewhat intentional, since filmmakers were loathe to show visibly pregnant women in the 1950s.
During the final fight, an actor throws another into the wooden banister, shaking the entire set (including the camera) before it cuts to another shot.
