Behind the opening credits, the taxi that's taking Trask to the airport passes two movie theaters at least three times, as if the rear projection of stock footage was on a continuous loop. The movies playing at these theaters are "Homestretch" and "The Two Mrs. Carrolls," (at the McVickers), both released five years before this film. The McVickers was a well known Chicago theatrical site, but the taxi arrives at the MIDLAND CITY, IOWA airport, and a flight FROM Chicago is among those listed on the arrival schedule.
As the plane flies through the air, the wire it is suspended from can be clearly seen.
On the initial flight, Trask agrees to hold Binky's hand because she's frightened. A few rows back, Hoke quips to Fortness that Trask is a "quite a fast operator." However, considering where Hoke is seated, it would not be possible for him to see that that Trask and Binky were holding hands.
On the first leg of the flight, early on in he film, Trask holds Binky's hand at her request, leading Hoke, several rows back, to comment to Dr. Fortness that Trask is a "fast operator." However, from where Hoke is seated, there'd be no way for him to see the hand holding.
The seaport or docking bay that Trask pays young Jerry a visit, to speak with the boy about his late father, is obviously a sound stage. Outside voices do not echo or sound slightly canned unless inside a cavern or a cave.
An establishing shot of Los Angeles shows street signs for the supposed intersection of Wilshire Blvd. 3500 N. block and Los Angeles St. 700 N. block. Although Wilshire runs east-west and Los Angeles runs north-south, they do not intersect.
