The film is an adaptation of thee stories from the Decameron: Bartolomea and Paganino (day two, tale ten), Giulio and Ginevra (day two, tale nine) and Don Bertrando and Isabella (day three, tale nine).
In keeping with the decency code of the time, the film presents sanitized versions of Boccaccio's stories. All of the explicit dialogue is removed from Pagaino and Bartolomea's story.
In Boccaccio's original book, the location of Ginevra's birthmark is underneath her breast. It is changed to the back of her shoulder in this film.
