Frankie's father (Kenneth More) is named Ted. Andrew Ray really was the son of Ted: his father was film and radio star Ted Ray.
Andrew Ray's character briefly displays his snake-buckle elastic belt: very popular with small boys in the 1950s. Judging from the jocular references to her attending frequently at the police station, Hy Hazell's character is presumably an occasional prostitute as well as the dance-teacher she claims to be.
This film was originally rated "X". At that time the "X" certificate barred under-16s. This film was evidently regarded as too adult-oriented to attract the PG-equivalent "A" certificate, which allowed all over-12s, and under-12s when accompanied by an adult.
