- Whitey Kincaid: If I was smart, I'd shoot you right now. Except I think I'll keep you around for awhile...just to see what makes you work.
- Clay O'Mara: Maybe you're getting soft, Whitey. Maybe you're turning into a human being.
- Whitey Kincaid: If I ever feel that coming on, I'll shoot myself.
- Whitey Kincaid: What made yuh do it?
- Clay O'Mara: You mean my arresting you?
- Whitey Kincaid: Yeah... you trying to make yourself a reputation, or are you trying to ruin mine?
- Tom Meredith: Laurie, what's wrong?
- Laurie Kenyon: You should know. You left me all alone at the dance. You didn't even come back to call for me. I had to come home with Clay O'Mara
- Fred Kenyon: I thought you liked young O'Mara.
- Laurie Kenyon: I do. That's the trouble. He kissed me good night... and I liked it.
- Laurie Kenyon: Clay said, if you weren't jealous of me, you're a half-wit. I'm beginning to think he's right.
- Tom Meredith: You don't mean that, Laurie.
- Laurie Kenyon: I do, Tom.
- Fred Kenyon: I'd like an explanation, Laurie.
- Laurie Kenyon: So would I. I don't know how it happened. I didn't want it to happen, but it did.
- Fred Kenyon: Do you really think you're in love with Clay?
- Laurie Kenyon: Yes.
- Fred Kenyon: Listen to me, Laurie. Forget Clay and save yourself a lot of grief.
- Laurie Kenyon: Why?
- Fred Kenyon: I've seen kids like him time and again in every Boomtown in the west. He's out for revenge and headed straight for Boot Hill.
- Laurie Kenyon: I haven't seen you out there dancing.
- Clay O'Mara: I don't have anyone to dance with.
- Laurie Kenyon: You can ask someone. A girl can't very well ask you.
- Clay O'Mara: Heh. I guess I'm just bashful
- Laurie Kenyon: And I know a girl who isn't dancing right now and her escort isn't here.
- Clay O'Mara: Well, it wouldn't look very nice for her to be dancing with strangers now, would it?
- Laurie Kenyon: [Perturbed] I guess it wouldn't. Besides, if she asked you, you'd probably thing she was being forward.
- Clay O'Mara: I probably would.
- Laurie Kenyon: You like forward girls?
- Clay O'Mara: I don't know any.
- Laurie Kenyon: I think they're pretty dreadful myself.
- Clay O'Mara: Oh, uh, would you care to dance?
