The final short to feature the "swing" rendition of the "Three Blind Mice" theme at the end.
This short mostly consists of stock footage from "The Hot Scots" (1948).
Theodore Lorch had died seven years prior to the short being filmed. He was replaced in the newer footage by another actor who was either shot from behind or who wore the same disguise Lorch did in The Hot Scots (1948).
The head of the Wide Awake Detective School, whose title is "Dean", is named O. U. Gonga. The Stooges refer to him as "Dean Gonga", a word play on the famous Rudyard Kipling poem "Gunga Din".
Columbia production number 4218.
