The singing lumberjack Skogas is a spoof of the singing timber rafter Snoddas (Gösta 'Snoddas' Nordgren), who made his breakthrough in 1952.
The title is taken from the 1890s song of the same name, performed by Sickan Carlsson in the film and also used as instrumental theme music. This was the third Hasse Ekman film in less than three years to get its title from an old song, the other two being Jazzgossen (1958) and Seventh Heaven (1956), both of which also feature new performances of the respective song.
