Stuntman Bob Buquor accidentally drowned off of the Malibu coast during filming for the skydiving scenes.
This was billed as Sharon Tate's film debut by producer Martin Ransohoff, who had he under contract. However, she already had appeared in several films, including an unbilled bit in Ransohoff's own The Americanization of Emily (1964) and in the British horror film Eye of the Devil (1966).
Sharon Tate told Roman Polanski that the happy atmosphere on this film was marred when a young stuntman (Bob Buquor) drowned after parachuting into the Pacific Ocean.
