Another sign that the film was made in 1965 was the appearance of The Animals. The line up that appears in the film (Eric Burdon, Chas Chandler, Hilton Valentine, John Steele and Dave Rowberry) had already broken up by the time of the film's release and Eric Burdon had formed a newer and more psychedelic version known as Eric Burdon and the Animals.
The film was originally released by Trans America Films as "The Girl in Daddy's Bikini", then released it as "It's a Bikini World" in 1967.
Co-star Bobby Pickett had a huge novelty hit record with "The Monster Mash".
When Delilah and "Herbert" go to a movie they see "Attack of the Crab Monsters," directed by Roger Corman and released by Allied Artists Pictures.
The Toys, The Gentrys and The Castaways were all one hit wonders from 1965 and were already dated when the movie was released two years later.
