Olinka Berova is as sexy as Ursula Andress, but even with a new woman producer Hammer’s She sequel doesn’t give her new She-Who-Must-Be-Obeyed much of a chance — the story just sits there and the kingdom of Kuma is woefully under-produced. Good photography and acting help, but one doesn’t earn high marks for the Boys from Bray.

The exploitation films of the ‘70s always offered up the goods to everyone. And by goods I mean a whole lot of sex and violence, and if you were so inclined to notice behind fogged up eyewear, pulpy takes on the relevant social issues of the day. Not all were created equal, of course; they can’t all be clever variants of the form such as Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill!, or Foxy Brown. However, they almost all deal with female empowerment and Invasion of the Bee Girls (1973) more than checks off all the boxes, squeezing every last drop of pulp from its sci-fi fruit.
Released by Centaur Dimension Pictures in June, Invasion of the Bee Girls Aka Graveyard Tramps (it doesn’t really fit, but is one of the best alternate titles I’ve ever heard) managed to fairly impress critics on its tour of local theatres and drive-ins, including Roger Ebert,...

Hammer is in the process of restoring many of their classic films. On top of the usual digital restoration and work on bonus features, they are also on the hunt for rare and missing scenes to restore into the original films:
“We’ll post at length next week… but here’s a list of “lost” scenes that we’d love to restore if we are able to source materials. Anyone who knows the whereabouts of such, please email us.
1. An extended “knife in neck/snake bite” scene from The Reptile (this is thought to exist, but no known evidence).
2. The “eyeball” scene from The Curse Of Frankenstein (this footage definitely exists somewhere).
3. The “head in acid bath” scene from The Curse Of Frankenstein (this scene may not have been filmed, though stills exist).
4. The “under-dressed maidens” in the flashback procession from The Mummy (this scene may not have been filmed,...

We're into that time of year when a bunch of potentially-good, but also potentially-bad films are hitting. One coming up is The Woman in Black, the Hammer Horror adaptation starring Daniel Radcliffe. We've seen plenty of trailers and posters before, but this one is a throwback to true Hammer Horror, mimicking the poster style of those films. Den of Geek (via Styd) debuted the poster, which basically features a softly painted Radcliffe. I tossed in another Hammer poster below just to compare. There's also a nifty book out packed with all these posters called The Art of Hammer, which you can pick up now. See the poster below! Here's the poster for The Woman in Black, which isn't nearly as impressive as the real Hammer posters. Here's an original Hammer Horror poster for The Vengeance Of She from 1968, just for quick reference. A young lawyer (Daniel Radcliffe) travels to a...
