Dalmatian people

Every person in Dalmatia, Croatian region, knows that this is the best TV material ever write in Croatia.Miljenko Smoje, the writer, is born Splicanin and the mentality of whole Dalmatia is excellent shown in this serial. If you know Croatian language that does not mean that you will understand them talking, because, they are speaking pure dalmatian accent, island Hvar accent."Malo misto" is little town "Starigrad".But I am not surprised with rating who people give to this TV series because it is only understand by us, Dalmatians, so, it will be good if some of next version (maybe on DVD) of this extraordinary serial were have subtitles on Croatian and English.

Homage to Miljenko Smoje

This is a classic of all times. It brings generations together.

Malo Misto, and later Velo Misto, are the funniest when describing the mentality, the culture of Dalmatia. Watching some of the episodes would be useful to anyone preparing to spend any significant amount of time in this part of the world.

To those of us who hail from this flamboyant little world, it brings memories of childhood and reminds us that we really do tend to "produce too much history".

As reading and watching a play by Shakespeare, watching a product of Miljenko Smoje's work brings one to the conclusion that history continues to repeat itself, while human nature in its ugliness and beauty doesn't change, politics is politics, and life is life!

Dear Smoje, we have missed you and always will!

Fantastic!

This is, most likely, the best piece that Croatian TV has ever produced. The series still has the cult rating among the audiences of all generations and has hardly ever been approached in quality by any of the subsequent attempts in Croatian cinematography or TV production.

What makes it so excellent? Its wit, its humor, its realism, its charm, which is overwhelming, its superb (!) acting, so absent from those modern, stretched, fake, ardouous attempts to force the scenes and messages.

In those old days, I guess, the director was treating the audience as intelligent and able to think and discern for tmeselves, and so much was left for their own interpretation and interpolation. That gave this series so much extra charm. Nowdays, audience is treated as idiotic, and in need of most banal explicit explanations. They are looked differetnly and one can not detach himself from the suspicion that some quite different motivations are driving today's production.

This is an awfully nostalgic thing to watch. To those who would be able to understand and enjoy the sout Croatian dialect and its original peculiarities, will undoubtedly need a lot of tear-wiping tissues. At the end, you'll cry your shirt off!

Five stars! Most impressive. Fantastic.

What a shame my friends. This series Malo Misto or Nase Malo Misto are one of the best series ever. Not only in Croatia but in the world.Just as Velo Misto,Prosjaci i Sinovi and so on...Those are a true masterpieces. And the biggest shame of all is that this series are not rated with at least 9.9!I don't know what a hell is wrong with people. This series are so famous in Croatia and every Croat i know says that this is one of the best series ever. But then how come it's not rated with at least a nine.At least!I am sure that most of the people who rated Malo Misto are Croat's and i think that it's really shameful that they don't give bigger rating's to the wonder's of Croatian cinematography and wider.

I am a Croat and by this i'm saying to other Croat's and everyone else who rates movies on IMDb that they should rate Malo Misto with 10 because it's a miracle in Croatian and Ex Yugoslavian cinematography. And because it's definitely worth of world's attention.

You will like it even more if you come from Croatia an especially from Dalmatia in Croatia because then you will be able to see how wonderful the way of life in Dalmatia is shown in Malo Misto.Wonderful and Realistic.I am Dalmatian so i know!
