- Several nude scenes were made for the film, but were cut from the original U.S. theatrical release of it in order to ensure a "G" rating. They include a scene of Tara (Robin Hawdon) and Sanna (Victoria Vetri) making love in a cave, a scene where they both go skinny-dipping in a lake and a scene of Tara taking off Sanna's clothes on the beach. The aforementioned nude scenes remained in the uncut UK version, however (as Vetri revealed in a 1984 interview). This version has also officially been released in the U.S. at last on Blu-ray on February 28, 2017 and on DVD-R on April 4, 2017 by Warner Archive.
- The original 1970 UK theatrical version of the film was cut by the BBFC to edit some scenes of violence in order to ensure an "A" certificate, including the fights with the python, the pterosaur and the man-eating plant. It was re-released to UK theaters 10 years later in 1980, but this print was taken from the edited U.S. version, which had removed all of its nude scenes. This latter version was the one originally released in the U.S. on DVD by Warner Home Video in 1988. It was then re-released on DVD in the U.S. in 2008 with a "G" rating both as a double feature with the film Moon Zero Two (1969) and as part of a Best Buy-exclusive DVD series titled "Warner Home Video Sci-Fi Double Feature", but it was quickly recalled because the original 1970 uncut UK version, complete with its nude scenes, had been included on it by mistake. After this, new DVDs with the cut U.S. version of the film on it were released at Best Buy to take its place. The first of these two DVD releases is now a highly-sought after collector's item. Finally, the original 1970 uncut UK version was officially released in the U.S. at last on Blu-ray on February 28, 2017 and on DVD-R on April 4, 2017 by Warner Archive.
