Three Bond girls appeared in this film.
They were
1. Claudine Auger, who had the female lead in Thunderball (1965).
2. Barbara Bach, who went on to have the female lead in The Spy Who Loved Me (1977).
3. Barbara Bouchet, who appeared in Casino Royale (1967).
The first two appeared in Eon Bond movies, while the third appeared in a non Eon Bond movie which was a spoof.
The shot where a man falls to his death from a building featured a falling mannequin. However, it strikes a window and breaks it during the plunge, which was an unintentional fluke. The blunder remains in the film.
Ennio Morricone's haunting, unique music score featured the authentic sounds of vocalists exhaling for its main theme.
One of several Italian "gialli" films to reference an animal in its title (and plot) after the success of Dario Argento's The Bird with the Crystal Plumage (1970).
On top of featuring several Bond girls, the film stars a younger Giancarlo Giannini, who played René Mathis in Casino Royale (2006) and Quantum of Solace (2008).
